POSITION : BOOKSHOP SALES ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM OF A O'LEVEL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION.

SKILLS: COMPUTER LITERATE, WITH KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT WORD, EXCEL,  AND OTHER MICROSOFT OFFICE PACKAGES.

RESPOSIBILITIES: ASSIST THE BOOKSHOP MANAGER TO PREPARE SALES REPORTS, ATTEND TO CUSTOMERS, PREPARE AND COORDINATE FUNCTIONS INVOLVING THE BOOKSHOP, STOCK TAKING AND OTHER RELEVANT DUTIES.

NOTE: CANDIDATE'S WITH EXPERIENCE WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY, AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO START WORK IMMEDIATELY

 Soma offers Advisory and consultancy services on issues related to readership and book development focusing on:

  1.  Developing and installing multi service Knowledge and Information Centres in communities, among social interest groups, in school communities and institutions offering palliative and long convalescing services to children and young people; our packages are tailored to needs and interests of the clientele but fashioned around the idea of group ownership of common space for leisurely communication and dialogue; reading space and facilities inclusive of reading matter; electronic communication through internet and/or radio, television, mobile phones etc., and scheduled social debates and creative expression.
  2. Readership promotion programs of various kinds.
  3. Package publishing.
  4. Books and readership related research, project design and evaluation.

We also do collaborative work with like minded organisations and projects. Our partners include: Goethe Institute, Parapanda Theatre Lab, CBP, Hakielimu, TGNP, TAMWA; and BAMVITA and TEN/MET of whom we are a member.See More>>
