POSITION : BOOKSHOP SALES ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM OF A O'LEVEL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION.

SKILLS: COMPUTER LITERATE, WITH KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT WORD, EXCEL,  AND OTHER MICROSOFT OFFICE PACKAGES.

RESPOSIBILITIES: ASSIST THE BOOKSHOP MANAGER TO PREPARE SALES REPORTS, ATTEND TO CUSTOMERS, PREPARE AND COORDINATE FUNCTIONS INVOLVING THE BOOKSHOP, STOCK TAKING AND OTHER RELEVANT DUTIES.

NOTE: CANDIDATE'S WITH EXPERIENCE WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY, AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO START WORK IMMEDIATELY

OUR SERVICES

A coffee bar which serves an assortment of easy to prepare light meals and snacks of the healthy eating variety; a blend of hot (a variety of coffees, teas and chocolate) and cold non alcoholic beverages ranging from freshly prepared fruit juices, smoothies, fruit cocktails and single fruit juices.

At least three meals available per day as displayed on the menu board with one as day’s special. A meal not on display is available by order at least 6 hours in advance. On theme days we prepare food bazaars accompanied with talks on a specialized meal requirements and entertainment; mostly performed poetry, performed story telling and music (traditional and contemporary).

Also available is an assortment of alcoholic beverages: beers, spirits, wines, cocktails and special blends.
The kitchen also carters for functions and events organised at the café premises and delivers culinary services to offices and functions happening in neighbouring locations.
It also organises theme days as well as food and beverage fun events such as:

  •    Thematic food fairs involving talks on selected aspects of eating habits and their social and health consequences e.g. obesity, diabetes, allergy etc. accompanied by a food fair involving food exhibition (cooked meals and recommended ingredients); and a workshop or panel on correct preparation of prescribed foods
  •    African and international food bazaars and food festivals;
  •    Special days dinners, African buffets, barbeque, wine testing, coffee shows etc.
All these events and others to be added on based on participants recommendations are accompanied by cultural and literary performances from local and/or international entertainers to promote cultural and artistic expressions falling under the popular entertainment category.
